Dog Behaviour Support in East Yorkshire
Helping you to have a dog that’s a joy to to share your life and home with.
I’m here to help
Is your dog making life feel more stressful than it should be?
Barking on walk, snapping at visitors or struggling to cope when left alone?
I’m here to support you as we work together to understand and resolve your dog’s behavioural challenges—in ways that are practical, ethical, and realistic for everyday life.
You’ve probably already encountered a lot of conflicting advice (thank you, Google!) As a registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist, I take a different approach: grounded in clinical understanding, personalised to your dog, and tailored to your family and lifestyle.
Whatever the problem, don’t worry – I’m here to help. Just imagine a future where your dog walks calmly by your side, greets guests with a wagging tail and responds reliably to your recall cue. With my Personalised Dog Behaivour Programmes, that future is within reach.
I Know You Love Your Dog — and I Understand How Hard This Is
I know you adore your dog, but I also know how upsetting it can feel when their behaviour embarrasses you, limits your social life, or even causes fear or worry.
You want the years you spend together to be joyful and relaxed—and right now, that future feels out of reach.
That’s where I come in.
I work collaboratively with you and your vet to understand the underlying reasons driving your dog’s behaviour. This joined-up, evidence-based approach is the only ethical way to create meaningful, lasting change—and to support the happy future you want with your dog.

Common Dog Behaviour Challenges
Dogs experience their homes very differently from we do. They’re not worried about décor or tidiness (and honestly, neither am I). Instead, they respond to subtle environmental and emotional cues that aren’t always obvious to us.
Some of the most common concerns I support clients with include:
Resource guarding of food, toys, furniture, or even people
Night-time activity or vocalisation
Destructive behaviour
Aggression towards people or other animals in the home
Fear of noises
Depression or withdrawal
Age-related behavioural changes
Lunging at other dogs
Pulling on the lead on walks
Being distracted by the environment and ignoring attempts to focus
Trying to chase wildlife or farm animals
Aggression towards people on the street
Anxiety around traffic or machinery
No Quick Fixes.
Just Thoughtful, Effective Change.
What I do offer is:
An educated, evidence-based approach to behaviour change
Empathy for both you and your dog
Clear, practical guidance you can actually implement
There’s no off-the-shelf plan here. Every programme is bespoke, designed specifically for your dog, your home, and your circumstances—and I support you throughout the process.

Ralph's journey to calmer walks
Ralph was a nightmare to walk; he pulled on the lead and lunged and barked at both dogs and people on the street. He had been seen by a number of unaccredited trainers and ‘behaviourists’ who had tried to change his behaviour on walks; one used methods that are known to make this sort of reactivity worse.
Things were getting very uncomfortable in Ralph’s home, and his family were arguing about whether rehoming would be the best solution.
They found their way to me when their vet recommended they needed an ABTC-registered behaviourist.
After a full investigation covering Ralph’s veterinary history, his daily schedule, and two vaccine psychometric tests, we came to a diagnosis and developed a plan which included changes to his environment and daily life. His vet prescribed medication to help speed up Ralph’s learning as we began teaching him new behaviours and new ways of thinking when he met his triggers.
Gradually his behaviour changed as he no longer felt the need to ‘shout and swear’ at everyone he met and knew to do something much more rewarding. Win-win!
Even better, his family could claim back the cost of the package from their pet insurance.

FAQs
-
Training focuses on teaching specific skills or cues (such as sit, stay, or recall). Behaviour work looks deeper—at why your dog behaves the way they do. We explore emotional, environmental, developmental, and medical factors to address the root cause of the behaviour, not just the symptoms.
-
Every dog is different. Some clients notice small changes quite quickly, while other behaviours take longer to shift. Behaviour change is a process, not a quick fix—but with consistency and support, meaningful progress is absolutely possible.
-
Yes. Collaboration with your vet is a core part of my approach. Behaviour and health are closely linked, and working together ensures your dog receives the most appropriate, ethical support.
-
Yes. You’re not left to manage on your own. Your package includes ongoing support throughout the month, plus a follow-up visit to review progress and adjust the plan if needed. Additional sessions are available if you’d like longer-term guidance.
